Oh my goodness, that wasn't a very pretty visualization of the all those poor eels floating in the water face down. I'm not sure what's being talked about here, what it is that killed them. But it sounds like you are trying to help, and that is always a good thing. Best of luck to you - and the eels.
I seen an eel for the first time this past summer. At first I wasn't sure what it was! They are definitely something to admire if you have any love for nature and animals at all.
